Raritan Bay Waterfront Park Birdwalk (Cancelled)

March 28 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm
NJ United States

Led by Dave Oster, Associate Naturalist. The park is located directly on Raritan Bay and features beach, tidal flats, salt marsh and wooded areas. A paved walking path runs along the waterfront offering unobstructed views of Raritan Bay. We may also explore the beach and tidal flats depending on tides. We will scan for loons, grebes, ducks, other seabirds, and look for any rarities. In recent years Western Grebe, Grebe, Barrow's Goldeneye and Black-headed Gull have all been present in Raritan Bay. The salt marsh and wooded areas may also provide other wintering birds and early migrants. Much of the trip is on level ground but prepare for wind and weather. A scope is helpful. Cost: $10 members, $15 nonmembers. To register please call 908-396-6386. Park entrance is located at the intersection of Keenan Way and John T O'Leary Blvd in South Amboy. Please meet in the corner of the parking lot closest to Raritan Bay and the large "Gazebo."
