Greenwood Gardens Birdwalk
Led by Dave Hall, NJ Audubon Associate Naturalists. Immerse yourself in nature as you venture into the garden with New Jersey Audubon Naturalist, Dave Hall. This avian expert will talk about the varied species of birds that visit Greenwood’s peaceful woodlands and the surrounding 2,100 acres of South Mountain Reservation’s protected parkland. End the morning with refreshments at the gift shop. For ages 13 and older; limited to 15 participants. Registration with Greenwood Gardens is required for this trip. NJ Audubon Hawk Watches at Scherman Hoffman Observation Deck
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, BernardsvilleJoin our Naturalist on the observation deck for a bird’s eye view of fall migration. We'll be looking for migrating raptors and any passerines passing through. Marvel at the spectacular view of Broad-winged Hawk kettles as they fly over the sanctuary, Bald Eagles, and other raptors. Hawk Watches are scheduled for Thursdays, 9/7, 9/14. and 9/21 from 1:00 to 3:30 PM. Loaner binoculars will be available. Note: a hawk watch day will be cancelled if there is rain, snow, or weather warnings. Registration and fee are per date. You must pre-register for each date you wish to attend. Ticket sales ends at 4:00 PM on the day before each hawk watch. One person per ticket. COST: Free for members, $5 nonmembers. Interested in becoming a member? If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund.
