This is an opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas 1:1 or in a small group setting. Share your history, involvement, and love of the Sanctuary, give input and feedback regarding the center and get your thoughts and ideas heard. Morning Walk at Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary

These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. The walks are cancelled if there is snow, rain, or weather warnings. Pre-registration required. Registration required by 4:00 PM the day before the walk. COST: Free for members, $5 nonmembers. NJ Audubon Employee and Volunteer Art Show
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesThe NJ Audubon Employee and Volunteer Art Show will be opening a the Wayrick Wildlife Art Gallery, located on the 2nd floor of the Scherman Hoffman building. Our volunteers and employees will be displaying their latest and favorite wildlife and natural landscapes artwork between October 7, 2023, and January 31, 2024. Light refreshments will be served on October 7 between 12:30pm and 3pm. The Art Gallery is open: Thursday-Saturday 9am – 5pm Sunday 12 noon – 5pm. IN-PERSON Nature Infused Yoga

Yoga is a great way to relax, connect with yourself, and increase flexibility and strength. Explore the connections between yoga and nature in this 75-minute class. No experience necessary; all levels welcome. For ages 15 years and older. Preregistration is required. Ticket sales end at 4:30 PM on the Friday before each class. You must pre-register, walk-ins will not be allowed to participate. We are offering an in-person class at the sanctuary and a virtual class online simultaneously. The in-person class has a limit of 10 people. Be sure to purchase the correct ticket. COST: $14 members, $18 nonmembers. Interested in becoming a member? NJ Audubon Digital Photography Workshop 3: Photographic Composition
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesInstructors: Phil Witt, Associate Naturalist Workshop 3 will focus on composition--that is, capturing the best image. The workshop will be organized around three nature photography principles—light, composition, and moment. You will learn how to use elements of composition such as color, depth of field, lines, patterns, perspective, shapes, space, and texture. The workshop will review examples from a variety of subject types within nature photography, ranging from birds to insects to landscapes. Participants are encouraged to bring examples of their own images on a thumb drive for in-class critique and editing. Registration required, ticket sales end on 11/3 at 4:00 PM. NJ Audubon: Fall Break Fun: Outdoor Skills Adventure
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesHave fun and learn some outdoor skills in this 2-day outdoor program. Have fun and learn some outdoor skills while school is out! This 2-day outdoor program for children will include favorite wilderness skills activities from our popular Outdoor Skills summer camp. Make a natural shelter, paint a hiking stick to take home, and more! We’ll end with a campfire and a snack to cook over the fire. For children ages 9 to 17 years. Canoe Brook Reservoir JFK Parkway, Short Hills, NJ, United StatesThis RESTRICTED ACCESS site is a hot spot for wintering waterfowl. Join us in our annual bird count for NJ American Water. NJ Audubon has been granted access to New Jersey American Water Canoe Brook Reservoir, one of the best places in Essex County for wintering waterfowl. We may catch a glimpse of hawks and perhaps a Bald Eagle. NJ American Water has been collecting our annual count data for almost 20 years! Be a part of conservation.
