New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesEnjoy a quiet morning here at the Sanctuary walking the trails with an NJ Audubon staff or Associate Naturalist. These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. The walks are cancelled if there is snow, rain, or weather warnings. Registration required by 4:00 PM the day before the walk. You must pre-register, walk-ins will not be allowed to participate. DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP 1: Understanding your Digital Camera
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesIn workshop 1 David DesRochers will review the basics of understanding your camera. The instructors will go over the camera controls, helping participants understand how the settings work and how changes in settings affect the image. Participants will learn what equipment can be used to achieve different effects. By the end of the workshop, participants will understand lenses, camera bodies (mostly digital single lens reflex bodies), megapixels, shutter speeds, f/stops, focal lengths, apertures, exposure histograms, and depth of field—and how all of these can be used to take good nature photographs. Although the focus will be on nature photography, many of the same principles and equipment needs apply to other kinds of photography as well. One person per ticket.
