Description
Golden Ragwort (Packera aurea)
Small, yellow, daisy-like flowers in early-mid spring are this plant’s hallmark and provide great food for native bees and other early spring pollinators. Golden Ragwort shines in April and May when many other flowers are just starting to emerge from winter dormancy. This plant thrives in full sun to part shade and is 1-2’ tall and around 1’ wide, sometimes taller with its spring flower stems. Golden Ragwort is deer-resistant, has semi-evergreen leaves and will spread readily after the first year, making it a great groundcover as well.
