Description
Swamp Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata)
Swamp Milkweed is a NJ native milkweed that thrives in average to wet garden soil and full-part sun and can reach up to 5’ tall. Like its cousin Common Milkweed, this plant is a host plant for the Monarch butterfly but is easier to control in a garden setting. Bright pink flowers emerge in June-July and are followed by the classic fluffy milkweed pods in the late summer and fall.
