The walk got off to an excellent start this morning when an American Bittern flew across the back of Bunker Pond. A short while later it, or another one, flew up and across again. Migrating Northern Gannets were flying in small flocks close to shore, beautiful in the morning light, along with a few Red-throated Loons and scoters.
