Enjoy a quiet morning here at the Sanctuary walking the trails with an NJ Audubon staff and/or associate naturalist. These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. The walks are cancelled if there is heavy snow, rain, or weather warnings.

Led by Kristin Mylecraine. Yoga is a great way to relax, connect with yourself, and increase flexibility and strength. Explore the connections between yoga and nature in this 75-minute class.  No experience necessary; all levels welcome. Please arrive 10 minutes early and bring a yoga mat if you have one (some will be provided.) Cost per class: $12 members, $15 nonmembers. Cost for all 8 classes: $88 members, $112 nonmembers. To register for the full 8-week session, registration is required prior to the first class by calling 908-396-6386.   You may register for a single class. Walk-ins are welcome.

Don’t let the chilly weather keep you indoors! We will hike the trails of Hawk Rise Sanctuary and enjoy the winter scenes while we sip some hot chocolate to keep warm. Longtails in Love

With Chuck Slugg and CMBO naturalists. Long-tailed Ducks court during the weeks surrounding Valentine's Day, with the males yodeling melodically to their mates. We'll search for Long-tailed Ducks and other waterfowl in the oceans, bays, inlets and ponds from Avalon to Cape May Harbor. Preregistration required. Cost: $24 members, $32 nonmembers. Led by Dorothy Smullen, Teacher Naturalist. The importance and wonders of water on this blue planet is presented while participants create a snowflake from paper in a quilling design.
