All NJ counties are considered medium to low COVID-19 community levels.  New Jersey Audubon highly recommends that anyone who is not fully vaccinated, wants additional protection, or comes from a higher community level area should consider wearing a mask and social distancing, especially indoors.  Please do not come to a program if you are sick, have a sick family member or have reason to believe you may have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus

Nature at Your own Pace! Quest 4: Outdoor Adventures

Each Nature Quest includes a kit mailed to your child, interactive online chats with a Naturalist and at-home activities for endless fun! Outdoor Adventures Quest: Practice the skills needed to be a responsible explorer! Learn how to build a shelter and set a trail. Discover where you may find fish and how to catch them with homemade tools. Use the sun to tell time, play with shadows, and make plants grow! Dates: August 9-13 Explore nature in your own space, at your own pace! Receive exclusive access to a virtual calendar for the week with daily nature-based activities to complete. Each activity will have step-by-step instructions or a video to guide you. An exploration kit will be mailed to your home with items to take on your adventures! Your camper will have opportunities to participate in virtual group activities, building community with other campers. Additionally, a NJA naturalist will host virtual chat sessions with campers on Monday and Friday. Continue exploring after camp week; with your own digital copy of our quest magazine, you’ll have loads of fun ideas! Help pull our seine net through the Cape May Harbor and see first hand what creatures inhabit the waters. Encounter an incredible diversity of marine life as you help pull a twenty-foot seine net through the shallows of Cape May Harbor. You will learn about the ecology of our coastal waters, and about the fascinating and ancient Horseshoe Crab. A great family outing! Pre-registration is required. COST: $10 adults, $5 children ages 3-12, children under 3 free. Limited to groups of up to 20 participants during this time. Children may not participate without an adult. Contact us at 609.427.3045 for private group tours and rates. INFORMATION: Meet 5-10 minutes prior to your program time at the picnic tables in front of the Trucksess Welcome Center at 1600 Delaware Avenue. We may walk up to 1.5 miles, over generally level, sometimes muddy or sandy terrain. Some trips involve walks over rocky and sandy area. Please bring necessary footwear, sun screen, bug spray, water bottle, and other belongings with you that you may need. Restrooms will be available to the public 30 minutes before and after the program. NEW JERSEY AUDUBON'S PROGRAM GUIDELINES: Effective June 4, 2021, fully vaccinated people may attend outdoor programs without masks. If you are unvaccinated, please mask up. Please do not come to a program if you are sick, have a sick family member or have reason to believe you may have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus. CANCELLATION POLICY: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. Sorry, no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance unless due to health emergencies; however registrations can be transferred to another program in the future. REGISTER HERE
