Spring Break Outside!

Escape the mundane and embrace the mud! We may be on spring break, but nature is hard at work. Flowers are starting to bloom; insects are starting to buzz, and birds are migrating north. Each day will be filled with adventure as we welcome signs of spring through hands-on exploration, creative projects, and all-around fun! Pre-registration is required. DETAILS: This is a drop-off program for children in grades 1-5. Monday-Friday; 9:00am to 12:00pm. COST: $175/week Member, $200/week Non-Member CANCELLATION POLICY: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. Sorry, no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance unless due to health emergencies; however, registrations can be transferred to another program in the future. REGISTER HERE

Join Director Brett Ewald and CMBO naturalists for this 2-hour walk around the streets of Cape May Point! With migration in full swing, every day sees new arrivals! Experience the diversity, abundance, sounds and colors of Spring migration at Cape May Point. We’ll enjoy a bonanza of seabirds, waterfowl, shorebirds, songbirds and more in the shadow of the lighthouse and nearby habitats. PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED. COST: $8 members, $12 nonmembers. IMPORTANT INFORMATION:  We bird in all weather. Be sure to check the forecast in advance and dress in layers appropriate for prevailing weather conditions. The weather in Cape May can differ considerably from nearby inland areas and may be warmer, colder, or windier so it’s best to be over prepared. We may have to bird in the rain, so please bring your rain gear. TRANSPORTATION: We may walk up to 1.5 miles, over generally level, sometimes muddy or sandy terrain. Some trips involve walks over jetties. CANCELLATION: NJ Audubon’s CMBO programs are virtually never cancelled. Join CMBO naturalists for 2 hours of birding around beautiful Nummy Island! This rich salt marsh is one of the best spots to observe hunting and breeding Clapper Rails, herons and egrets, American Oystercatchers, Ospreys, Black Skimmers, terns and Seaside Sparrows, and to enjoy mudflats teeming with migrant shorebirds. **MEETING LOCATION**: You will receive a confirmation email, which contains the exact directions to the meeting location on Nummy Island.
