Intro to Nature Tech
Lorrimer Sanctuary 790 Ewing Avenue, Franklin Lakes, NJ, United StatesJoin Lorrimer Sanctuary for a Nature Tech Walk where we will be investigating our natural world using phone apps like iNaturalist, Seek, and Merlin to identify the birds, plants, and animals around us! Technology isn't so bad when you can use it to better your identification skills, sharpen your nature photography, keep track of your life list, or tune your ear to special bird call. We will be focusing on iNaturalist, Seek and Merlin for this program. This walk is intended for adults or families. Please bring either an Apple or Android device that can support application downloads. COST: $8 member, $10 Non-member. SCHEDULE: October 5th: Bird ID: Merlin October 12th: Plant ID: Seek, Picture This October 19th: Community Science: eBird, iNaturalist CANCELLATION: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. Creative Hands Club: Glass on Glass Mosaics
Nature Center of Cape May 1600 Delaware Avenue, Cape May, NJ, United StatesCreate a glass-on-glass mosaic of a peaceful winter scene. Glass On Glass with Tina Giaimo. Templates will be provided with outlines plus all the materials needed to make a framed scene. The first class is for cutting and gluing glass pieces to an upcycled frame. Class #2 is for cleaning and grouting the piece so that is ready to be hung. Pre-registration is required. The process is easy to learn, and even beginners leave with impressive creations. Greenery and wire are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own special decorations.
