Salem County Birding Part One

Wawa Parking Lot - Woodstown NJ 896 NJ-45, Woodstown

Spring birding at productive Mannington Marsh, Featherbed Lane, and Supawna Meadows for waders, shorebirds, & other spring migrants. First of two days of birding Salem County. We’ll visit Mannington Marsh-one of the largest tidal freshwater marshes in the state-for waterfowl, herons, egrets, shorebirds Sandhill Cranes, and raptors. Agricultural areas and hedgerows at nearby sites including Featherbed Lane and Compromise Road may host more raptors, sparrows, and we’ll look for songbird migrants around Supawna Meadows NWR.  Bring lunch and be prepared for some walking over flat terrain. Led by Scott Barnes and Linda Mack. Location: Meet at the Woodstown Wawa at the intersection of Routes 40 & 45. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED COST: $50 Members, $60 Non-members REGISTER HERE
