Ken Buchanan Park-gulls & raptors
Ken Buchanan Riverfront Park Sayreville Blvd, Sayreville, NJ, United StatesThis park overlooks productive tidal marsh where ducks, gulls, and raptors congregate during the winter. Ken Buchanan Riverfront Park gives a great view of Sayreville Marsh and the Raritan River. The marshes may have raptors including Northern Harrier, Bald Eagle, and sometimes Rough-legged Hawk. The waters of the river are good for ducks and Great Cormorants. We'll spend a good amount of time sorting and sifting through the thousands of gulls that congregate here--most winters there are multiple Iceland and Glaucous Gulls present. Time permitting, we may caravan to nearby Raritan Bay Waterfront Park for more birding. Bring binoculars, spotting scope if you have one and dress warmly. There are no open restrooms at the park. Led by Jason Denesevich & Patrick Belardo. PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED COST: $20 Members, $25 Non-members REGISTER HERE
