New Jersey Audubon – Digital Photography Exhibit Opening Reception
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesThe Wayrick Wildlife Art Gallery at the Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary is hosting a digital photography exhibit from April 1 to June 29, 2024. It will feature an impressive lineup of New Jersey Audubon photography instructors including Phil and Becky Witt, Jack and Ellen Moskowitz, and David and Cathy DesRochers. Visitors can anticipate a diverse range of photographic styles and subjects, showcasing the instructors' expertise and the unique perspectives they bring to the art form. The exhibit aims to not only celebrate the beauty of nature but also inspire a deeper connection with the environment and a renewed commitment to conservation. To mark the opening of this fascinating exhibit, a special reception will be held on April 14th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. This provides a unique opportunity for visitors to engage with the photographers and connect with fellow enthusiasts who share a love for both photography and nature. The NJ Audubon Center invites both photography enthusiasts and nature lovers to immerse themselves in this enriching exhibit. Whether you're an aspiring photographer seeking inspiration or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of the natural world, this event promises to be a delightful experience for all. Creative Hands Club: Glass on Glass Mosaics
Nature Center of Cape May 1600 Delaware Avenue, Cape May, NJ, United StatesBack by popular demand, create a glass on glass mosaic with Tina Giaimo! The theme is plants and pollinators. Templates will be provided with outlines plus all the materials needed to make a framed scene. Wednesday's class is for cutting and gluing glass pieces to an upcycled frame. Come back the next evening for cleaning and grouting the piece so that is ready to be hung. If you can not make the Thursday evening class, contact Emily ([email protected]) to arrange another time to finish your project. Pre-registration is required. Story Time at NJ Audubon Scherman Hoffman
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesJoin us for a walk to our frog pond and a reading of "The Puddle Garden." Meet at the Nature Store at 11am for a short walk to the frog pond where David Pasake, NJA Volunteer and retired Wantage Elementary School teacher, will read "The Puddle Garden", written by Jared Rosenbaum, owner of Wild Ridge Plant nursery. Learn how Bear Cub invites friends to his new home by creating a Puddle Garden. A puddle garden is both beautiful and beneficial to other wildlife species. Children and parents alike will be inspired by this story to create homes for butterflies, hummingbirds, turtles, frogs and other wildlife, using native wildflowers and shrubs that provide shelter and sustenance. Hopefully our pond will have some frogs and eggs that everyone can see and hear. If the weather is uncooperative, the book will be read inside the Nature Store. FREE! Interested in becoming a member?
