Creative Hands Club: Upcycled Holiday Light Bouquets
Nature Center of Cape May 1600 Delaware Avenue, Cape May, NJ, United StatesJoin West Cape May artist Carla Schaeffer in creating whimsical holiday light bouquets. We'll turn trash into treasure and use vintage lights and accessories to create one of a kind holiday decoration. All supplies will be provided, but if you have a favorite vase in holiday colors, or a favorite vintage vessel of your choice (flour sifter, small watering can, special bottle, etc) feel free to bring it along! NJ Audubon Annual Canoe Brook Reservoir Bird Count
Canoe Brook Reservoir JFK Parkway, Short Hills, NJ, United StatesThis RESTRICTED ACCESS site is a hot spot for wintering waterfowl. Join us in our annual bird count for NJ American Water. NJ Audubon has been granted access to New Jersey American Water Canoe Brook Reservoir, one of the best places in Essex County for wintering waterfowl. We may catch a glimpse of hawks and perhaps a Bald Eagle. NJ American Water has been collecting our annual count data for almost 20 years! Be a part of conservation. We’ll have on hand small succulents, moss, and other natural materials to decorate the pumpkin. The succulents will last up to a month. All materials supplied, pumpkins vary in size. New Jersey Audubon – Artist’s Reception and Exhibit Opening
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesThe public is invited to meet artist Guy D'Alessandro at a free artist’s reception of “Nature Through the Eyes of An Artist” on December 8 from 2pm to 4pm. Light refreshments will be served. The Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary will present “Nature Through the Eyes of An Artist”, from November 17, 2024 through January 26, 2025 at its Wayrick Gallery at 11Hardscrabble Road in Bernardsville. Guy D'Alessandro lives with his wife, 3 kids and dog in Northwest NJ. Art is how Guy expresses himself. He captures special moments on canvas and his subjects are given a voice. With a focus on contrast and movement, each piece is truly unique. Since 1997, Guy has been showcasing his art, and now some of his incredible images are available on guydalessandro.com and as cards through Greeting Card Universe. NJ Audubon: Easy Native Plant Propagation

Residential landscapes are becoming increasingly important for the survival of native pollinators and other wildlife and can be home for both humans and wildlife. In this workshop we’ll show you how to create a wildlife garden and a simple way to start native plants from seed. You can make up to five mini-greenhouses from repurposed materials and plant your choice of over twenty species of native plant seeds. Since our last year's workshop, we've a few more species of native plants to the seed collection. As a bonus, make a pollinator home for native bees from recycled materials for your backyard. NJ Audubon: Count the Birds for the Great Backyard Bird Count

Join Dorothy Smullen, Teacher Naturalist, to count the birds at the bird feeding station in front of the Welcome Center/Nature Store and report our results. Learn how to count birds in your own backyard for this world-wide citizen science program established in 1998 by National Audubon Society and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
