    Enjoy the natural beauty of the stars at night, learn about the seasonal constellations, and warm up with a cup of hot cocoa! Join us for this after-dark program all about the stars! We'll be looking up as we learn all about the constellations and their myths as we sip on hot cocoa during this family-friendly program. Binoculars and telescope for viewing will be provided. The first part of this event will take place indoors, then we will head outside to observe the stars. Please dress appropriately. This event is weather dependent and will be cancelled if there is rain or cloud cover, participants will be notified of cancellations by 6:00 PM. Join us for an in-person adventure as we explore the awesome signs of spring popping up all around! It's a chill walk where you can spot blooming flowers, hear birds singing, and soak up fresh air. Perfect for nature lovers and anyone looking to connect with the outdoors. Don't forget comfy shoes and a curious mind! Bring your favorite notebook and let's explore the beauty of nature together by sketching, writing, and observing. It’s a chill way to connect with the environment and boost your creativity. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, this is for you. Can’t wait to see you there! This program is suited for participants 8 years+.   • Rainbow Roundup Nature Walk

    Spring has sprung! All around us, the colors of the rainbow are popping up in nature! Can you collect them all? During our Rainbow Roundup Nature Walk, we will take a gentle stroll around the Nature Center of Cape May trails in search of all the colors of spring. We will identify the first blooms of the season, search for signs of wildlife, and collect a few natural treasures along the way. Can you find all the colors of the rainbow? This program is best suited for children 10 and younger. Kids under 2 are free. Important note: This is not a drop-off program; adults must accompany children. Participation is limited. Pre-registration is required. COST: Children $8, Adults $12 IMPORTANT INFORMATION:  We may walk up to a mile, over generally level surfaces. Some surfaces may be muddy or uneven. Please dress warmly and wear sturdy footwear.   • Craft for the Birds!

    Join area writer, birder, and conservation advocate Kelly Ball to craft a life-sized bird sculpture from upcycled cloth and become part of a crowdsourced art project. Each handcrafted bird commemorates a real bird that lost its life after hitting glass. Your bird will become part of a 300-ft art project that will travel the U.S. to educate the public about bird-window collisions and you'll be part of the searchable database of people that contributed. We'll also learn how to prevent bird-window collisions - especially important during spring migration! Note: This is a family-friendly program. Adults must accompany children. Consider attending our Learning the Birds by Song class with Randy Little immediately following the walk at 1:00 PM for more bird learning!
