reTURN the Favor Public Walk: Villas Beaches
Join us for a reTURN the Favor walk organized by New Jersey Audubon to help rescue stranded horseshoe crabs and learn more about them along the way. This event is great for all ages. Be sure to wear shoes that can get wet, and be prepared for the conditions, including bug spray and sun protection. Please click on the following link to learn more or join: Become a Member today! MEETING LOCATION: Meet on the beach at the end of Pinetree Drive in Villas, NJ, park along Pinetree Drive. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We bird (and crab) in all weather. Be sure to check the forecast in advance and dress in layers appropriate for prevailing weather conditions. The weather in Cape May can differ considerably from nearby inland areas and may be warmer, colder, or windier so it’s best to be over prepared. We may have to bird in the rain, so please bring your rain gear. TRANSPORTATION: We may walk up to 1.5 miles, over generally level, sometimes muddy or sandy terrain. Some trips involve walks over jetties. CANCELLATION: NJ Audubon’s CMBO programs are virtually never cancelled. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. Beachcombing the Cove
Sunset Pavilion 62 Beach Avenue, Cape May, NJ, United StatesWalk the Cove with a naturalist to discover the gifts the sea leaves behind at the water's edge. Explore one of the area’s ever-changing coastal habitats — the beach, ocean, and dunes of Cape May’s “The Cove” beach. We’ll search the shallows, comb the shoreline for treasures, and walk along the dunes in search of wildlife. Pre-registration is required COST: $12 adults, $6 children ages 3-12, children under 3 free. WHO CAN JOIN?: A wonderful program for the whole family! Children may not participate without an adult. Harbor Safari
Nature Center of Cape May 1600 Delaware Avenue, Cape May, NJ, United StatesHelp pull a seine net through the Cape May Harbor to see first-hand what creatures inhabit the waters. Encounter an incredible diversity of marine life as you help pull a twenty-foot seine net through the shallows of Cape May Harbor. You will learn about the ecology of our coastal waters, and about the fascinating and ancient Horseshoe Crab. A great family outing! Pre-registration is required COST: $12 adults, $6 children ages 3-12, children under 3 free. Limited to groups of up to 20 participants during this time. Children may not participate without an adult. Contact us at 609.427.3045 for private group tours and rates. MEETING LOCATION: Meet 5-10 minutes prior to your program time at the picnic tables in front of the Trucksess Welcome Center at 1600 Delaware Avenue. Nighttime on the Beach

Learn about ghost crab habitat, how they move, and what they eat. Do you think you can catch one? Discover what other creatures are on the beach at night. Pre-registration is required.
