Embrace the beauty of nature as we mark the shortest day of the year and welcome the return of longer days. Immerse yourself in the serene surroundings of the sanctuary and connect with the rhythms of the natural world. We will be lighting our bonfire, burning our intentions for the new year, and meditating through our solstice spiral. Don't miss out on this special occasion to embrace the spirit of the season. Enjoy watching your budding naturalist ‘go wild’ experiencing woodland adventures. Children use all their senses to safely explore and discover the wonders of nature here at Lorrimer Sanctuary. Children are introduced to nature concepts using a combination of storytelling, exploration and arts and crafts. It is educational and fun! Best for families with children 4 -10 years. Constellations and Cocoa

We'll be looking up as we learn all about the fall constellations and their myths as we sip on hot cocoa during this family-friendly program. This event will take place entirely outdoors, please dress appropriately. This event is weather dependent and will be cancelled if there is rain or cloud cover, participants will be notified of cancellations by 5:00 PM.
