Join us at Scherman Hoffman for spring break fun! Each themed day will be filled with super fun Teacher/naturalist led activities and adventures in the great outdoors. Sign up for one or more days. Be sure to pack a lunch. For youth ages 6 to 9 years. COST: $85.00 per day. SCHEDULE: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day Monday, April 1 - Natural Art - Create nature inspired art. Tuesday, April 2 – Enchanted World - Make a fairy house or a gnome home to take home. Wednesday, April 3 – Home Sweet Home - Make and take home some "home sweet homes" for the animals. Thursday, April 4 – Enchanted Woodlands - Make a fairy house or a gnome home for the fairies and gnomes in our Enchanted Forest. Friday, April 5 – Wetland Adventure - Explore the ponds and the Passaic River. Location: 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ Registration required at Eventbrite by March 29 at 9:00 AM. This is an opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas 1:1 or in a small group setting. Share your history, involvement, and love of the Sanctuary, give input and feedback regarding the center and get your thoughts and ideas heard. These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. NJ Audubon Raritan Bay Waterfront Park Bird Walk
Raritan Bay Waterfront Park 201 John T O'Leary Boulevard, South Amboy, NJ, United StatesLed by Dave Oster, Associate Naturalist The park is located directly on Raritan Bay and features beach, tidal flats, salt marsh, and wooded areas. A paved walking path runs along the waterfront offering unobstructed views of Raritan Bay. We’ll be looking for a variety of seabirds including Common and Red-throated Loon, Horned Grebe, Scoters and Scaup, Gannet and Bonaparte's Gull, all found on past trips. Bald Eagle, Peregrine Falcon, and Harriers are regulars. At this time of year Gannets and Horned Grebes often mass in Raritan Bay and numbers can be impressive. Over 1,000 Gannet in March 2021! Much of the trip is on level ground but prepare for wind and weather. Please bring your own binoculars, and spotting scope if desired.   COST: $15 members, $20 nonmembers. Registration is required. IN-PERSON Nature Infused Yoga
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesLed by Kristin Mylecraine, Yoga Teacher. Yoga is a great way to relax, connect with yourself, and increase flexibility and strength. Explore the connections between yoga and nature in this 75-minute class. No experience necessary; all levels welcome. For ages 15 years and older. Preregistration is required. There will be no class 03/30, 05/11, or 05/25. Ticket sales end at 4:30 PM on the Friday before each class. You must pre-register, walk-ins will not be allowed to participate. We are offering an in-person class at the sanctuary and a virtual class online simultaneously. The in-person class has a limit of 10 people. Be sure to purchase the correct ticket.
