Join CMBO naturalists for this 2-hour evening walk around The Nature Conservancy's South Cape May Meadows property! The Meadows, as it’s known to locals, attracts wading birds, falcons, shorebirds, waterfowl, and – sometimes – even owls. Schedule: September: 5:00pm - dusk October: 4:30pm - dusk PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED. COST: $8 members, $12 nonmembers. Interested in becoming a member? TRANSPORTATION: We may walk up to 1.5 miles, over generally level, sometimes muddy or sandy terrain. Some trips involve walks over jetties. Great Bay Blvd WMA

Stanley H. "Tip" Seaman County Park 120 Lakeside Drive, Tuckerton, NJ, United States

This large tidal marsh is great for shorebirds, rails, long-legged waders, Saltmarsh Nelson’s, and Seaside Sparrows, and songbird migrants. The so-called "Seven Bridges Rd" area of Great Bay Blvd WMA has some of the best salt marshes in the state, and is a magnet for wading birds and other tidal species. If the winds are right, we could see passerine migrants in the scrub-shrub patches along the route. Led by Scott Barnes and Amy Davis Location: Meets at Stanley H. NJ Audubon Hawk Watches at Scherman Hoffman Observation Deck

Join NJ Audubon Naturalist on the observation deck for a bird’s eye view of fall migration. Join our Naturalist on the observation deck for a bird’s eye view of fall migration. We'll be looking for migrating raptors and any passerines passing through. Marvel at the spectacular view of Broad-winged Hawk kettles as they fly over the sanctuary, Bald Eagles, and other raptors. Hawk Watches are scheduled for Thursdays, 9/29 and 10/13 through 27 from 1:00 to 3:30 PM. Note: a hawk watch day will be cancelled if there is rain, snow, or weather warnings. New Jersey Audubon's Muddy Hands Academy - utilizing a Nature Preschool model. A great choice for your 3–6-year old's! *Free to apply! * Looking for a way to add nature learning to your little one's week? Join New Jersey Audubon Staff as we use local phenomena to explore the world around us. Children will spend their time outdoors on the Lorrimer Sanctuary property bouncing between hands-on, inquiry-based activities and free-play to help them develop their own understanding of the natural world. We will use Nature as a guide during this twice weekly program over a period of eight weeks. Lessons will include activities focused on natural history topics, a story and craft, age-appropriate risk taking, all with attention to mindfulness and fun. *NO COST TO APPLY! * Children must be a minimum of 3 to enroll and cannot be older than 6 years old to participate. All children in Muddy Hands Academy must be potty-trained and bathroom independent. The Muddy Hands Academy utilizes a Nature Preschool model with children spending as much time as possible outdoors. Children should be prepared for the weather including wet and muddy conditions. Class sizes are limited to 5 children per session.
