Raritan Bay Waterfront Park
Raritan Bay Waterfront Park 201 John T O'Leary Boulevard, South Amboy, NJ, United StatesFall birding for waterbirds at this productive park. We'll look for waterfowl, loons, grebes, gulls, and raptors along the shores of the bay. Raritan Bay Waterfront Park lies at the western end of Raritan Bay near the mouths of the Raritan River and the Arthur Kill. The bay usually hosts a variety of waterbirds from fall through spring. Species we may see include Common and Red-throated Loons, Horned Grebe, a variety of diving ducks, several species of gulls, and raptors. Once you enter the park, go north and park at the end of the lot close to the bay. Be prepared for easy walking for 3 hours. Restrooms on site. Led by Patrick Belardo and Jason Denesevich. Seabird ID Mini-Workshop
Avalon Seawatch Avalon, NJ, United StatesThe migration of scoters and other sea ducks, loons, cormorants and gannets can be an overwhelming sight. For example, the CMBO full-time Avalon Seawatch project sighted over one million seabirds here in 2014! Join CMBO interpretive naturalists for this outdoor workshop to witness and learn about this migration spectacle. Featuring photography inspired by poems from Robert Frost and Carolyn Foote Edelmann, this exhibit encourages viewers to “stop and smell the roses” and appreciate nature’s everyday wonders. After School Nature Club

Each day will feature a nature topic, walk, craft, activity, and/or story! We welcome the next generation of naturalists to Lorrimer Sanctuary for our after-school nature club! Designed to be a continuation from our Tiny Tots program, we will read books, explore outside, make nature-themed crafts, and learn about the environment in age-appropriate ways. This IS a drop-off program, but parents are invited to stay and have coffee or chat inside during the program! Homeschoolers welcome! Registration ends at 5 pm the day before each event! Perfect for littles 18 months to 3 years old, join us for story time and nature activities! We welcome a new generation of budding naturalists to Lorrimer Sanctuary for this "grown-up-and-me" style program. We will read books, explore outside, and learn about nature in age-appropriate ways for littles! This program is best for kids 18 months to 3.5yrs. NJ Audubon: Morning Walk at Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary

These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. Registration required by 4:00 PM the day before the walk. There will be no walk October 4 and November 29. November 22: Bird walk with special guest! Join our last-of-the-year Saturday Morning Walk with our naturalist and special guest Zeiss representative Rich Moncrief. While we walk the trails admiring the wildlife, Rich will happily answer all your binocular questions and offer advice. IN-PERSON Nature Infused Yoga
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesLed by Kristen Mylecraine, Yoga Teacher and NJ Audubon Senior Research Scientist Yoga is a great way to relax, connect with yourself, and increase flexibility and strength. Explore the connections between yoga and nature in this 75-minute class. No experience necessary; all levels welcome. Please arrive 10 minutes early and bring a yoga mat. For ages 15 years and older. This workshop will be held outdoors when the weather is suitable. During inclement weather it will be held indoors. Ticket sale ends at 4:30 PM on the Friday before each class. We are offering an in-person class at the sanctuary and a virtual class online simultaneously. Be sure to purchase the correct ticket. COST: $15 members, $19 nonmembers. Back Bay Birding by Boat on the Osprey
Miss Chris Marina - The Osprey 1212 Wilson Dr, Cape May, NJ 08204, NJ, United StatesJoin Captain Bob and the crew of The Osprey for close-up looks at secretive rails, nesting Ospreys, migrant shorebirds, terns, gulls, herons and more. We explore the coastal saltmarsh of Cape May from Cape Island Creek to the Wildwoods and view the natural wonders of historic Cape May Harbor.
