    Get ready to scurry around the beach in search of Cape May’s elusive ghost crabs! Get your flashlights out and meet a Nature Center Naturalist on the beach for an hour of ghost crab chasing! Learn about ghost crab habitat, how they move, and what they eat. Do you think you can catch one? Pre-registration is required. Children may not participate without an adult. Contact us at 609.427.3045 for private group tours and rates. COST: $10/children, $12/adults WHEN: Thursdays, 8:00pm-9:00pm WHERE: Meet at the end of Mount Vernon Avenue near the end of the Promenade in Cape May (Mt Vernon Ave, Cape May, NJ 08204). Free & metered parking available along Mt. Vernon Ave. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We may walk up to 1.5 miles, over generally level, sometimes muddy or sandy terrain. Some trips involve walks over rocky and sandy area. Please bring necessary footwear, sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, and other belongings with you that you may need. Restrooms will be available to the public 30 minutes before and after the program. EQUIPMENT NEEDED: We will provide at least 1 "Ghost Crab Catcher 5000" Flashlights (Cell phone flashlights work too!) CANCELLATION POLICY: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. End your week, or start your weekend, enjoying the summer birds that nest in or visit this beautiful refuge's freshwater marsh, dunes, and beach. PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED.
