Fall Migrants at the Rea Farm – October 8, 2022

Leaders: Kathy Horn, Roger Horn, Bernie Hodgdon, Barry Hershfeld

Temp: 58°F

Winds: N 15 mph

Weather Conditions: cloudy

Today was one of those days we wait for all year. There were more birds than you could get your bins on and it was a great mix of birds. Warblers, kinglets, jays, flickers, sharpies, coops and sparrows, they were all flying about. Perhaps the most striking sighting though was the group of about 15 Wood Ducks, many of them males in beautiful plumage that, surprisingly, did not flush or immediately glide out of view on the large pond; what a sight they made in the morning sun!
