One of the most novel things on today’s November Novelty Trip was the presence of almost 60 Wood Ducks on East Lighthouse Pond; they were just exquisite in the bright morning light, with both sexes well represented. The Eurasian Wigeon was also on that pond, along with a great variety of other ducks. Bunker Pond held our first-of-season Tundra Swan. We went up to North Wildwood, looking for shorebirds, gulls and sea ducks. There were many American Oystercatchers on the sandy spit, along with Marbled Godwits, Black-bellied Plovers, Dunlin and Sanderlings.
