Leap into Birding
Cape May Point State Park Hawkwatch Platform NJ, United StatesNEW 2024!! The day that only comes once every four years, what better way to spend it than birding Cape May County! To make this day even more special, we will be attempting to track down 100 species before the day ends. A lofty goal for the month of February, or is it technically March? However, with the local knowledge of Adehl Schwaderer, CMBO’s Program Coordinator, and our skilled Associate Naturalists, Roger & Kathy Horn, we stand a chance of making it happen! This full day special field trip has something to offer birders of all skill and experience levels. We do not set a firm daily schedule in advance, leaving us flexible to maximize birding opportunities, taking advantage of weather conditions, tides, and recent bird sightings. We may walk up to 1.5 miles, over generally level, sometimes muddy or sandy terrain. If the weather is not favorable, there is an option of spending time at the Nature Center of Cape May where Ms. Schwaderer will deliver a presentation on winter birding in Cape May County. PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED COST: $28 members, $35 nonmembers. Interested in becoming a member? Please click on the following link to learn more or join: Become a Member today! CANCELLATION: CMBO programs require a minimum number of registrants to run, five days in advance of the start of the tour but are seldom cancelled.
