Yoga is a great way to relax, connect with yourself, and increase flexibility and strength. Explore the connections between yoga and nature in this 75-minute class. No experience necessary; all levels welcome. For ages 15 years and older. Preregistration required. This class will be held weekly from 3/1/25 to 5/31/25 and will be held virtually. There will be no class 4/19, 5/10, and 5/24. THIS CLASS WILL BE HELD VIRTUALLY VIA ZOOM COST: $15 members, $19 nonmembers. Ticket sales ends at 4:30 PM on the Friday before each class. These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. The walks are cancelled if there is snow, rain, or weather warnings. There will be no walk April 19, May 10, and May 24. Registration required by 4:00 PM the day before the walk. NJ Audubon Learning the Birds by Song Series
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesLed by Randy Little, Associate Naturalist For beginners and those with some experience, this birding-by-ear series will improve your bird identification skills. More often than not, birds are heard before they are seen (if seen at all!) Learning their songs will add another dimension to your birdwatching. Randy Little is a former NJA board member and long-time NJA volunteer. Randy learned birding as a youngster under the wings of the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology’s founders and is a master at recording bird songs for the Cornell Lab. This series will begin Wednesday March 12 and continue every Wednesday evening until April 16. March 12 & 19 classes will cover the winter resident birds, March 26 & April 2 classes will cover the early migrant birds, and April 9 & 16 classes will cover the summer resident birds. Registration and fee are per class. You must pre-register for each class you wish to attend. Ticket sale for each class ends at 4:00 PM on the day of the class. Learn bird id and participate in NJ Audubon WSB. Led by Angus Macaulay, Teacher Naturalist Attention young birders! Do you want to be a part of the largest and most prestigious birding competition in the country? Here is the perfect opportunity. Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary will be host to the World Series of Birding Youth Development Team. Join Mr. Angus for a mix of birding, teamwork, and fun. The team will meet for three practice sessions on March 23, April 13, and May 4, and a full day of birding on competition day (May 10). Registration is limited to six participants ages 10 to 16. NJ Audubon Digital Photography Workshop 7: Bird and Wildlife Photography
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesInstructor: Phil Witt, Associate Naturalist This workshop will focus on techniques used to photograph wildlife, especially birds. In addition to reviewing equipment selection and use, the topics of time of day, weather, composition and light will be covered. Students will be introduced to critical variables to control in bird/wildlife photography, such as exposure and shutter speed. Phil will cover typical camera settings useful for bird/wildlife photography. In addition, the program will include photo editing techniques used to process wildlife images using Adobe Camera RAW, Photoshop and NIK Plug Ins.
