IN-PERSON Nature Infused Yoga

Yoga is a great way to relax, connect with yourself, and increase flexibility and strength. Explore the connections between yoga and nature in this 75-minute class. No experience necessary; all levels welcome. For ages 15 years and older. This class will be held weekly from 3/2/25 to 5/31/25. There will be no class on 4/19, 5/10, and 5/24. Ticket sales end at 4:30 PM on the Friday before each class. You must pre-register, walk-ins will not be allowed to participate. We are offering an in-person class at the sanctuary and a virtual class online simultaneously. The in-person class has a limit of 10 people. Be sure to purchase the correct ticket. These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. The walks are cancelled if there is snow, rain, or weather warnings. There will be no walk April 19, May 10, and May 24. Registration required by 4:00 PM the day before the walk. NJ Audubon Learning the Birds by Song Series

More often than not, birds are heard before they are seen (if seen at all!) Learning their songs will add another dimension to your birdwatching. Randy Little is a former NJA board member and long-time NJA volunteer. Randy learned birding as a youngster under the wings of the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology’s founders and is a master at recording bird songs for the Cornell Lab. This series will begin Wednesday March 12 and continue every Wednesday evening until April 16. March 12 & 19 classes will cover the winter resident birds, March 26 & April 2 classes will cover the early migrant birds, and April 9 & 16 classes will cover the summer resident birds. Registration and fee are per class. You must pre-register for each class you wish to attend. Ticket sale for each class ends at 4:00 PM on the day of the class. NJ Audubon: Saturday Winter Hike
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesLed by Sue Predl, Nature Store Assistant Join Sue for a guided two-mile nature hike to enjoy the trees, birds, and plant life at Scherman Hoffman Nature Sanctuary on Saturday January 11 and 25. The trails we hike will vary, but we can guarantee beautiful views of our sanctuary. We will hike approximately 2 miles. Walking time is flexible but will be approximately 2 ½ hours. Please dress for the winter weather and wear sturdy shoes; be prepared to walk on uneven ground and up hills. The hike will go rain or shine. NJ Audubon: Paint Your Own Gourd Birdhouse

Paint your own gourd birdhouse for the cavity nesting birds returning from their winter homes this spring. Bonnie, retired art teacher with 40 years experience, will give a demonstration on painting technique, and help you along with your painting. All materials provided. Information on growing your own gourds will be provided. Hang your decorative gourd birdhouse in your backyard and enjoy watching the new resident raise their young! One person per ticket. John James Audubon: A Visionary Artist – Presentation by Tom Lamb
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesTom Lamb will give a brief overview of the extraordinary life and achievements of John James Audubon, along with what makes him the greatest bird artist, and some of the controversies that surround him. Tom will also discuss why Audubon prints are so valued and why some publishers of the prints might be more desirable than others. Tom Lamb is a retired auction specialist who started at Christie’s in 1980 in London and moved to Bloomsbury Book auctions in 2007, and to Bonhams Book department in 2011 before retiring in 2021. He was always involved in book and map auction records. In his retirement he has set up a consultancy firm providing advice on Appraisals and Estate management.
