Birding Cape May Point – April 4, 2026

Leaders: Kathy & Roger Horn, Bernie Hodgdon, Holly Lemieux

Temp: 60°F

Winds: SW 9 mph

Weather Conditions: mostly sunny

Purple Martins were circling above the martin boxes for the first time this season, just back from their wintering grounds in South America. A Cooper’s Hawk was bringing nesting material to a fork in a pine tree and a few Ospreys hunted over the ponds. Northern Gannets are still flying by along the coast along with skeins of scoters. Today it really felt like Spring had arrived!
