The “Bird of the Day” at the State Park this morning was definitely the Barn Swallow, with over a hundred flying over the ponds and marshes throughout the park. It was also clear that Eastern Kingbirds are on the move as we encountered a large flock of them back by the Seagrove Avenue entrance. There are some lingering Purple Martins, and small numbers of Indigo Buntings and Field Sparrows. Two Blue-winged Teal and a flock of yellow-legs were feeding in Lighthouse Pond.48 species
