Birding Cape May Point – December 21, 2024

Leaders: Roger Horn, Bernie Hodgdon, Holly and Mark Lemieux.

Temp: 34° F

Winds:  NW 16 mph

Weather Conditions: sunny

A windy blustery walk today at Cape Point State Park. The red trail was a led us to lighthouse pond. There we were able to view Gadwall, Ring-necked Duck and Hooded Mergansers well. As we were near the end of the trail, we came across a sunny and protected area of Wax Myrtle and Sweetgum trees. The Carolina Chickadees and Yellow-rumped Warblers had collected there feeding on the balls and berries. They seemed to be frolicking about while checking every cluster of berries.
