Birding Cape May Point – February 12, 2022

Leaders: Kathy Horn, Roger Horn, Bernie Hodgdon

Temp: 50° F

Winds:  SW 15 mph

Weather Conditions: sunny

The star of this morning’s walk was undoubtedly the hidden-in-plain-sight American Bittern, standing stock-still along the edge of Bunker Pond in the morning sunlight. Although we ended up with a nice variety of duck species, duck numbers are way down at the park now unlike Yellow-rumped Warblers which were seldom out of sight or sound.
