Birding Cape May Point – July 25, 2026

Leaders: Kathy & Roger Horn, Bernie Hodgdon, Holly & Mark Lemieux

Temp: 72° F

Winds: S 15 mph

Weather Conditions: mostly cloudy, early drizzle

Overcast days with light rain can be very good for birding and this was one of those days. The drizzle stopped just after we got started and birds came out to feed. We saw both Orchard and Baltimore Orioles, and multiple Yellow Warblers and Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. A Willow Flycatcher perched up next to an Eastern Towhee, and we watched Least Sandpipers, Green Herons and a Spotted Sandpiper feeding along pond edges. Least, Common, Forster’s and Royal Terns lounged on the beach, with Black Scooters visible in the surf behind them.
