It felt like the first day of spring out on the State Park trails today, in part because it was the first week the trails have been open since the snowstorm several weeks ago. Pine Warblers have arrived and were singing, an Eastern Phoebe gently bobbed it tail in-between forays for flies, a Brown Creeper worked the pine trees and Fields Sparrows sang in the dunes. There’s a fairly steady flow of Northern Gannetts moving north over the water, along with scoters, loons and Long-tailed Ducks.
