Birding Cape May Point – September 3, 2022

Leaders: Kathy Horn, Roger Horn, Bernie Hodgdon

Temp: 65°F

Winds: N 8 mph

Weather Conditions: sunny

There is a great mix of birds around right now. The shorebird variety is good; we had Pectoral and White-rumped Sandpiper along with Least, Semi-palmated, and Solitary, and Semi-palmated Plover. Six Tricolored Herons circled close overhead and both Great and Snowy Egrets were perched in treetops around a pond. There are also a lot of Green Herons, with several feeding along the edges of Lighthouse Pond, one giving us very close views from the viewing platform.
