Beachcombing the Cove
Sunset Pavilion 62 Beach Avenue, Cape MayWalk the Cove with a naturalist to discover the gifts the sea leaves behind at the water's edge. Explore one of the area’s ever-changing coastal habitats — the beach, ocean, and dunes of Cape May’s “The Cove” beach. We’ll search the shallows, comb the shoreline for treasures, and walk along the dunes in search of wildlife. Pre-registration is required COST: $12 adults, $6 children ages 3-12, children under 3 free. WHO CAN JOIN?: A wonderful program for the whole family! Children may not participate without an adult. Discover how our region’s migrating and nesting birds rely on native species like these for food, shelter, and so much more! Expand your trail knowledge during this informative guided walk with Mary Birrer, Teacher Naturalist at NJ Audubon’s Lorrimer Sanctuary. On this approximately 2-mile walk through varying habitats, Mary will offer her expertise through a naturalist’s lens; explaining the relationships between plant communities and the birds that rely on them and observing (and identifying!) the sights and sounds of the forest.
