The Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary presents a collection of paintings by artist Ingrid Marie Harbour from the past decade that highlights the gardens and parks of Staten Island and Central New Jersey, plus a variety of bird portraits and a mini trip out West to Red Rock Canyon in Nevada. With each scene drawing the viewer into this site-responsive, sensory-inspired artwork, Ingrid Marie Harbour captures jewel-toned moments of calm amid the wild hustle and bustle life regularly demands. www.ingrid.art The exhibition runs Sept 13th through Nov 6th and is free and open to the public. The October 4th reception is a wonderful opportunity to view the work, speak with the artist, and celebrate the beauty of the natural world through her distinctive vision. A portion of the proceed will benefit New Jersey Audubon. Cost: FREE Location: Wayrick Wildlife Art Gallery on the second floor of the Scherman Hoffman Sanctuary, 11 Hardscrabble Rd. in Bernardsville. he Wayrick Gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday please visit our Center Page for open hours: Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary | New Jersey Audubon |

Phonograph DJ MAC visits Lorrimer Sanctuary with his Antique Phonographs! Long before radio and record charts, whistling was America's original hit music — and mimicking birdsong may be humanity's oldest form of music-making. Join phonograph historian and collector "DJ MAC" (Michael Cumella) for a rare listening session featuring original 78rpm discs and wax cylinders, spun live on restored crank-up phonographs. Discover the forgotten stars of Vaudeville and early recorded sound: whistlers and bird imitators who packed theaters and topped the charts over a century ago. MAC shares their surprising, often hilarious stories alongside the actual sounds that made them famous — a genre of entertainment nearly lost to time. Equal parts concert, history lesson, and time machine. Come hear what the whole country was whistling about 100+ years ago. Join us for a heartfelt celebration at the NJ Audubon Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary to honor our volunteers and Stephanie! Please join us as we come together to celebrate our incredible volunteers and honor Stephanie Punnett as she retires after 15 plus wonderful years with New Jersey Audubon and 25 years in environmental education. Stephanie has given so much to Scherman Hoffman — from developing and teaching our environmental education programs, to guiding habitat restoration on our sanctuary grounds, to growing our summer camp program from its earliest days into the thriving, beloved program it is today. This is our chance to say thank you, together, as a community. This is a potluck! Please bring a dish, appetizer, or dessert to share, and let us know in your registration what dish are you bringing to the event to share with our community. We can't wait to celebrate with you. 🍂💚 LOCATION: The Learning Center, Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary SIGN UP HERE |
