Beachcombing the Cove
Sunset Pavilion 62 Beach Avenue, Cape May, NJ, United StatesWhat treasures does the sea leave behind at the water’s edge? Join us for an hour of beach combing to find out! Explore one of the area’s ever-changing coastal habitats - the beach, ocean, and dunes of Cape May’s “The Cove” beach. We’ll scour the shallows, comb the shoreline, and walk along the dunes in search of hidden treasures & signs of wildlife. Along the way, we’ll share some tips and tricks for identifying shells and other beach-inhabiting species! Pre-registration is required. Children may not participate without an adult. COST:$10/children, $12/adults WHEN: Wednesdays, 8:30am-9:30am WHERE:Meet at the flagpole near the Pavilion at the end of the Promenade by the Cove Beach (Cove Beach, Cape May, NJ, 08204). Metered parking is available along Beach Drive IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We may walk up to 1.5 miles, over generally level, sometimes muddy or sandy terrain. Some trips involve walks over rocky and sandy area. Please bring necessary footwear, sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, and other belongings with you that you may need. CANCELLATION POLICY: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. Sorry, no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance unless due to health emergencies; however, registrations can be transferred to another program in the future. REGISTER HERE

Join Cape May Bird Observatory staff and naturalists on a trolley tour to local “natural habitats” (with exits at two spots), learning about the beauty, diversity, abundance (millions of birds, butterflies, and dragonflies pass through each year), geography, and extensive history of this amazing spectacle. Relax and be entertained in the birding capital of North America! Co-sponsored by New Jersey Audubon's Cape May Bird Observatory and the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts and Humanities. Reimagined Landscapes: Nature-Based Collaging: Explore a new art form in our nature collaging workshop! Use your imagination to design unique shapes and landscapes by combining elements of craft and nature. Feel free to bring your own materials, but other supplies will be provided. Led by Teacher Naturalist and Artist Toni Stober. Join us for an early morning Friday bird walk at Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary. We will survey the morning migrants from the 3rd floor observation deck and then continue onto the trails for a short hike. The length of the hike will depend on bird activity. Back Bay Birding by Boat on the Osprey
Miss Chris Marina - The Osprey 1212 Wilson Dr, Cape May, NJ 08204, NJ, United StatesJoin Captain Bob and the crew of The Osprey for close-up looks at secretive rails, nesting Ospreys, migrant shorebirds, terns, gulls, herons and more. We explore the coastal saltmarsh of Cape May from Cape Island Creek to the Wildwoods and view the natural wonders of historic Cape May Harbor. The Osprey is a 37' pontoon boat that has a comfortable enclosed cabin with large viewing windows, a front deck with a railing, and a restroom on board. Non-motorized wheelchair accessible.
