Spring Seed Starting 101
Cape May Point Science Center 101 Lehigh Ave, Cape May Point, NJ, United StatesJoin us for our Spring Seed Starting 101 program, sponsored by the Diane Cornell Wildlife Garden Project! Jen Sawyer from the Rutgers Cooperative Extension will be presenting on the dos and don’ts for preparing your spring garden, followed by a hand-on seed starting workshop. By the end of this free program, you will be armed with new gardening tricks and seedlings that are ready to go into your garden when the time is right! Pre-registration is required and be sure to wear something you wouldn’t mind possibly getting dirty. Native Plant Sale
NJ, United StatesYour gardens will be the buzz, tweet, and talk of the neighborhood when you get off to a good start with top-quality plants. We emphasize the use of New Jersey native plants, which benefit wildlife and have a strong aesthetic appeal for your landscape. Some non-natives (but non-invasive) perennials and annuals, which offer an added boost to butterfly gardens, will also be available. We have three NJ locations having native plants sales on May 6th They are Lorrimer Nature Sanctuary in Franklin Lakes, Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary in Bernardsville and Nature Center of Cape May in Cape May. Harbor Art Gallery Opening Reception – June 2023
Nature Center of Cape May 1600 Delaware Avenue, Cape May, NJ, United StatesJanet Payne and John King - Featured Artists at the Harbor Gallery in Cape May! The Harbor Gallery is pleased to announce their featured local artists for the month of June. Artists Janet Payne and John King will display their works for the month of June, with an opening reception to meet the artists on June 2nd from 4-6pm. All artwork is for sale, with a portion of sales going to support the Nature Center of Cape May. Light refreshments will be served. The show will remain on exhibit at the Harbor Gallery for the month of July. Location: The Harbor Gallery is located at New Jersey Audubon’s Nature Center of Cape May at 1600 Delaware Ave, Cape May.

Nature Center of Cape May 1600 Delaware Avenue, Cape May, NJ, United StatesHelp pull a seine net through the Cape May Harbor to see first-hand what creatures inhabit the waters. Encounter an incredible diversity of marine life as you help pull a twenty-foot seine net through the shallows of Cape May Harbor. You will learn about the ecology of our coastal waters, and about the fascinating and ancient Horseshoe Crab. A great family outing! Pre-registration is required COST: $12 adults, $6 children ages 3-12, children under 3 free. Limited to groups of up to 20 participants during this time. Children may not participate without an adult. Contact us at 609.427.3045 for private group tours and rates. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Meet 5-10 minutes prior to your program time at the picnic tables in front of the Trucksess Welcome Center at 1600 Delaware Avenue. We may walk up to 1.5 miles, over generally level, sometimes muddy or sandy terrain. Some trips involve walks over rocky and sandy area. Please bring necessary footwear, sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, and other belongings with you that you may need. Restrooms will be available to the public 30 minutes before and after the program. CANCELLATION POLICY: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. Beachcombing the Cove
Sunset Pavilion 62 Beach Avenue, Cape May, NJ, United StatesWalk the Cove with a naturalist to discover the gifts the sea leaves behind at the water's edge. Explore one of the area’s ever-changing coastal habitats — the beach, ocean, and dunes of Cape May’s “The Cove” beach. We’ll search the shallows, comb the shoreline for treasures, and walk along the dunes in search of wildlife. Pre-registration is required COST: $12 adults, $6 children ages 3-12, children under 3 free. Children may not participate without an adult. Nighttime on the Beach
Mount Vernon Avenue Mount Vernon Avenue, Cape May, NJ, United StatesMeet a Nature Center Naturalist on the beach for an hour of ghost crab chasing! Learn about ghost crab habitat, how they move, and what they eat. Do you think you can catch one? Discover what other creatures are on the beach at night. Pre-registration is required.
