NJ Audubon: Winter Woodpecker Wander at Hawk Rise
Hawk Rise Sanctuary 1811 Lower Rd, Linden, NJ, United StatesLed by Angus Macaulay, NJ Audubon Teacher Naturalist Hawk Rise is home to several woodpecker species and winter is a prime time to spot them. Join us for a walk along the trails as we discuss these amazing birds and observe them in their in their natural habitat. Loaner binoculars will be available. This program is appropriate for individuals of all ages. Come dressed for the weather. Hot beverages will be served afterwards. COST: FREE Interested in becoming a member? Learn to identify trees in winter without the help of leaves! Join Dorothy to study trees in winter without the help of leaves. Registrants will be studying twigs and their differences in order to identify the unknown tree. After an indoor session, we will walk the trails to see bark patterns. One person per ticket.
