VIRTUAL Nature Infused Yoga

Yoga is a great way to relax, connect with yourself, and increase flexibility and strength. Explore the connections between yoga and nature in this 75-minute class. No experience necessary; all levels welcome. For ages 15 years and older. Preregistration required. There will be no class 03/30, 05/11, or 05/25. THIS CLASS WILL BE HELD VIRTUALLY VIA ZOOM COST: $15 members, $19 nonmembers. Ticket sales ends at 4:30 PM on the Friday before each class. Interested in becoming a member? Native Plant Sale – Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesScherman Hoffman’s Annual Native Plant Sale will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 10am-4pm. We will have a wide selection of native wildflowers in a variety of sizes and prices, as well as vendors and information booths. Come early as favorite plants sell quickly. Our favorites, including milkweeds, asters, mistflower, boneset, lobelia, iris, sunflower, bee balm, ferns, columbine and coneflower are sure to be on hand.

Whether you're a seasoned birder or just starting out, this event is perfect for all levels of bird enthusiasts. You'll have the opportunity to learn about the World Series of Birding and the diverse bird species that call the sanctuary home. Our experienced birder, Mary, will help you spot and identify various birds while sharing interesting facts about their behaviors and habitats. The Big Stay is perfect for people that would like to participate in the World Series of Birding but aren't interested in traveling around the state or hiking. "Stay" on our deck and let the birds come to you instead of hunting for the birds! Join the team for the whole day, or just the morning shift or afternoon shift. The Zeiss Representative will be on hand from 9am – 5pm to answer questions about binoculars and demonstrate the latest binoculars from Zeiss. You will have the opportunity to handle and compare several models of binoculars. Forest Stewardship Volunteer Mondays
Forest Stewardship Volunteer Opportunity Come join us at New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary to volunteer and help our staff manage our forest! Theses in-person volunteer days allow you to get hands-on experience in caring for our beautiful forests. Help maintain trails, and learn about and remove invasive species. No experience necessary - just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to help out! Don't miss this chance to make a positive impact on the environment and connect with like-minded individuals. Sign up now to secure your spot! This will be a recurring event. Please register for one or more days! Please make sure to wear long sleeves and plants , bring bug spray & sunscreen, Please wear comfortable clothes, shoes that can get muddy, and bring a water bottle. We will be using gloves, hand clippers, pruners, loppers and our hands to pull invasives. If you have a preferred set you enjoy using at home please bring them. You will be asked to fill out a volunteer form upon arrival. Please meet in our upper parking lot near the garage doors. FAQ: Do I need to stay for all 2 hours? No! We will welcome your help for as much time as you have available. Can children come? Yes, kids can definitely get involved! We will have activities like picking up sticks and light weeding that are perfect for young hands. Will you cancel in case of poor weather? If it is downpouring, thunderstorming, or there are high winds, we will cancel. Otherwise, this event will be on. Please wear warm clothing appropriate for being outdoors in cold or rain.
