NJ Audubon: Dark Sky

Presented by Stephen Mariconda, DarkSky Delegate.

During the presentation “DarkSky”, Stephen will discuss light pollution and its environmental impact in New Jersey. Learn what light pollution is and how it negatively impacts ecosystems, wildlife, human health, and how it obscures our view of the starry night sky. Learn about and discuss responsible environmentally friendly outdoor lighting practices and policy suggestions to reduce light pollution in North Jersey and beyond. Stephen Mariconda is an environmental advocate and graduate student at Rutgers School of Public Health.

Registration required. Ticket sale ends 11/12 at 4:00 PM.

CANCELLATION: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. Sorry, no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance unless due to health emergencies; however, registrations can be transferred to another program in the future.
