Higbee was alive this morning with bird sound – the ringing songs of Northern Cardinals, Carolina Wrens, Carolina Chickadees and Tufted Titmouse, along with the sound of Laughing Gulls out over the water. Northern Gannets and Double-crested Cormorants are moving in big numbers. Other migrants were present as well; Northern Flicker and Brown Thrasher numbers are increasing, Golden-crowned Kinglets are flitting in the cedars, Eastern Phoebes are tail-wagging in the fields and Osprey are calling overhead. It was quite a birdy morning!
