Spring Birding at Garrett Family Preserve – May 2, 2026

Leaders: Kathy & Roger Horn, Bernie Hodgdon, Dennis McKane, Mark Lemieux

Temp: 51° F

Winds: NW 7 mph

Weather Conditions: overcast

Several of the breeders are now at Garrett Preserve, though they were very shy this morning especially as the wind increased. Prairie Warblers, Chats and Field Sparrows called repeatedly but were all hunkered down out of sight. Cape Island Creek is again home to multiple nesting pairs of Osprey, and shorebirds, terns and gulls were busy feeding in the marshy creek.
