Cornell’s BirdCast showed that a lot of birds had moved in migration overnight and it seemed as if some of them had landed here! We had our first-of-season Yellow-breasted Chats and Blue Grosbeak, and Prairie Warblers were singing in several spots plus one perched up obligingly for scope views. The marsh held several pairs of Osprey as well as a few yellowlegs, and Chimney Swifts and Rough-winged Swallows flew overhead. Clapper Rails provided a background chorus to the flight of Snowy and Great Egrets.
