We always expect to see lots of ducks, a good number of sparrows and many chipping Yellow-rumped Warblers on our winter walks at Cape May Point. What we don’t expect to see are 26 Great Egrets (a number that gets flagged in eBird!) and three Baltimore Orioles. But see them we did today, along with several Fox Sparrows and a Belted Kingfisher, and a total species list of 50, not at all bad for a day in January.
