Cornell’s Birdcast reported 1.4 million birds crossed over Cape May in migration last night and though we didn’t have a huge volume of birds on our walk this morning, we did have nice diversity. Many warblers streamed overhead, high and without stopping, but on the ground, we had many American Redstarts, Black-and-white Warblers and Eastern Phoebes. Other warbler species included Magnolia, Pine, Black-throated Blue and Black-throated Green, Nashville, Cape May, Northern Parula and Yellow -rumped. We also saw our first White -throated Sparrow of the season.
