Hatfield Swamp
Exploring varied habitats for fall migrants such as warblers and raptors will make this an exciting trip! Footing may be wet or muddy. We will carpool to the trailhead. Sandy Hook Birding
Late September is a great time for fall migration at Sandy Hook. We may encounter terns, waders, warblers and more. Fall birding at a “crossover time” when neotropic migrants mix with incoming raptors and sparrows. A wide variety of habitats ensures good birding at one of the state's best hotspots. Be prepared for a fair amount of walking on flat and sandy terrain. Bring lunch and dress for the weather. Led by Linda Mack, Carole Hughes, and Chris Daly. Digital Photography Workshop: Understanding Your Digital Camera
Instructor - David DesRochers, NJ Audubon Associate Naturalist. Learn the basics of operating your digital camera. The instructor will go over the camera controls, helping participants understand how the settings work and how changes in settings affect the image. Participants will learn what equipment can be used to achieve different effects. By the end of the workshop, participants will understand lenses, camera bodies (DSLR and Mirrorless), megapixels, shutter speeds, focal lengths, apertures, exposure histograms, and depth of field—and how all of these can be used to take good nature photographs.
