NJ Audubon: Count the Birds for the Great Backyard Bird Count

Join Dorothy Smullen, Teacher Naturalist, to understand how to count birds in your own backyard for this citizen science program established in 1998 by National Audubon Society and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. We will count the birds at the bird feeding station in front of the Welcome Center/Nature Store and report our results. While you’re here you can make a pinecone bird feeder. Stop in any time for this FREE program. Loaner binoculars will be available as we count the birds at the Scherman Hoffman feeders. Reserve your spot! Instructor: David DesRochers This program will focus on techniques for finding and capturing unique images of the endless natural art our planet has to offer. Subjects covered include equipment, planning, composition, and capture. In addition, the program will cover photo editing techniques used to process landscape images using Adobe Camera RAW, Photoshop, and NIK Plug Ins. Students are encouraged to bring a flashdrive with two images (preferably RAW) for review and discussion. One person per ticket. Ticket sale ends on 2/16/24 at 5:00 PM.
