Birding the Meadows
The Nature Conservancy's South Cape May Meadows 692 Sunset Blvd, Cape MayJoin CMBO naturalists for this 2-hour walk around The Nature Conservancy's South Cape May Meadows property! The spring birding can be very rewarding at this freshwater wetland for lingering waterfowl and migrant shorebirds. PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED. COST: $8 members, $12 nonmembers. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We bird in all weather. Be sure to check the forecast in advance and dress in layers appropriate for prevailing weather conditions. The weather in Cape May can differ considerably from nearby inland areas and may be warmer, colder, or windier so it’s best to be over prepared. We may have to bird in the rain, so please bring your rain gear. TRANSPORTATION: We may walk up to 1.5 miles, over generally level, sometimes muddy or sandy terrain. Some trips involve walks over jetties. CANCELLATION: NJ Audubon’s CMBO programs are virtually never cancelled. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. Sorry, no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance unless due to health emergencies; however, registrations can be transferred to another program in the future.
NJ Audubon: Spring Break Fun for ages 6-9 years
Join us at Scherman Hoffman for spring break fun! Each themed day will be filled with super fun Teacher/naturalist led activities and adventures in the great outdoors. Sign up for one or more days. Be sure to pack a lunch. For youth ages 6 to 9 years. COST: $85.00 per day. SCHEDULE: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day Monday, April 1 - Natural Art - Create nature inspired art. Tuesday, April 2 – Enchanted World - Make a fairy house or a gnome home to take home. Wednesday, April 3 – Home Sweet Home - Make and take home some "home sweet homes" for the animals. Thursday, April 4 – Enchanted Woodlands - Make a fairy house or a gnome home for the fairies and gnomes in our Enchanted Forest. Friday, April 5 – Wetland Adventure - Explore the ponds and the Passaic River. Location: 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ Registration required at Eventbrite by March 29 at 9:00 AM.
