Cape May Point State Park Hawkwatch Platform NJ, United StatesJoin CMBO naturalists for this 2-hour walk around the Cape May Point State Park and beyond! Not watching birds when in Cape May is like not visiting the Grand Canyon when in Arizona! Join us for a relaxed morning of birding whether you are a seasoned birder or have never really watched birds on purpose before PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED COST: $8 members, $12 nonmembers. Spring Migration Bird Walks
Lorrimer Sanctuary 790 Ewing Avenue, Franklin Lakes, NJ, United StatesGrab your binoculars, it's spring migration! As the days warm, join us for a morning walk as we search for migrating birds like warblers! Learn how to identify and listen for bird species of all kinds during this hour-long birding program. From the end of April through early June, we'll walk the trails at Lorrimer Sanctuary looking for birds of all kinds including beautiful migratory warbler species that will only stop in NJ for a short time on their way north. This program is open to all birders, from beginner to experienced! COST: $8 members / $10 nonmembers IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Dress for the weather. This program is entirely outdoors. CANCELLATION: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. NJ Audubon: Bearfort Waters & Mossman’s Brook Trail Bird Walk and Old Coal Trail
Bearfort Waters Clinton Road, Hewitt, NJ, United StatesJoin Associate Naturalist Dave Oster to bird around Bearfort Waters and the trail along Mossman's Brook. We'll walk portions of Mossman's Brook Trail and Old Coal Trail to maximize our chances. Last year Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Least and Acadian Flycatcher, Hermit Thrush, Louisiana Waterthrush, and Hooded, Cerulean, Worm-eating, and Black-throated Blue Warblers were all present, plus many other nesting species.  Sturdy footwear recommended as the trail is level to rolling but rocky in places. Often very buggy. Please bring your own binoculars, and spotting scope if desired. There will be no equipment available to borrow. Ticket sales end on 6/2/2023 at 4:00 PM. Registration required. Negri-Nepote Grasslands
Negri-Nepote Native Grassland Preserve 260 Skillmans Lane, Franklin Township, NJ, United StatesWe’ll search for nesting grassland birds including Grasshopper Sparrow at this hidden gem. This restored grassland hosts a good variety of breeding species including American Kestrel, Black-billed Cuckoo, Grasshopper Sparrow, Orchard Oriole, and Blue Grosbeak. Be prepared for three hours of walking over flat terrain. We’ll also spend a little time looking at butterflies and dragonflies. There are no restrooms on site.
